‘The Last Airbender’ Casting Call

The upcoming action adventure movie by M. Night Shyamalan, ‘The Last Airbender’ due out in theaters July 2, which is based on the Nickelodeon hit cartoon (Avatar: The Last Airbender) is by no means a done deal. You may have seen the numerous trailers on the Net and on TV. Most recently featured during the Olympics and the Superbowl.

Well; Here’s some good news for budding actors and fans alike!. An open casting call for the movie will be held in Philadelphia, from 11 am to 4 pm, Saturday/13/March, at the Independence Visitor Center, at 6th and Market Streets. Since the lions share of the production is being shot in this city, most likely at the navy yard. It’s a great opportunity for local’s to get involved, in what could be the next big Blockbuster movie.

Producers are primarily looking for physically fit boys and girls ages 6 to 16 and men and women 18 to 65. The inside edge is being awarded to those with skills in martial arts. However; all interested parties are urged to audition. Note: I am sure that 17 year olds will not be excluded from the call.

A notice issued on Friday by Shyamalan’s production crew read in part: “Wear your karate Gi, dress casually, or come in the traditional costume of your family’s ethnic background.”
